"The Lord is righteous in all His ways, Gracious in all his works, The Lord is near to all who call upon Him." Psalm 145:17-18.

"Believe in the Lord your God and you shall be established" 2 Chronicles 20:20

God had plans for us all along to find our daughter in Honduras.  We never anticipated, expected or looked for our daughter, but God knew the absolutely perfect moment to bring her into our lives.  His plans are so much better than ours and we are humbled and honored to be Abby's parents.  She is a delight, loving, fun, an emerging comedian, and rattles off in both Spanish and English as if it were no big deal.  Donkeys neighing in the streets all night, roosters crowing, dogs barking, mud, dust, and filth don't phase her a bit like it does her parents!  Our God doesn't leave one thing out and we have cherished every moment.

On June 26, 2006 we started the process of adopting 15 month old Genesis Abigail.  The thrill and excitement of welcoming "Abby" into our home has been a miracle and joy.  We have prayed for Abby since she was born and my twin sister took her very first picture!  God was working this miracle in our midst and we didn't even know it.

God had plans for Abby's life before she was ever born.  One day upon seeing us with Abby, some people asked if we were joining the "adoption club".  We soon learned that America World Adoption, an international adoption agency committed to orphaned children, was meeting with leaders in Honduras to try and change the laws that keep over 114,000 children on the streets, in orphanages, and in often horrific institutions.  One thing led to the next and soon we were meeting with the First Lady, members of the Honduran National Congress, helping rewrite the adoption law for the country, and training over 300 staff for the child welfare agency of the country.

Not long after another NGO called Orphan Outreach heard about Abby and our situation and came and asked us to show them what God is doing in Honduras.  We showed them all the projects close to our heart, the work in Nueva Suyapa, the ministry at the dump, Reyna's school, and more.  God opened up amazing doors for Orphan Outreach to partner with us and over 1500 children will be receiving ongoing support through their commitment to children living in high risk areas.  Once again Abby's little life making a difference for her local community and country.

As of March, 2008, we are still waiting for our adoption to be final, but God has long been at work opening doors for us to help be a part of the change that needs to happen in Honduras on behalf of children.  In Abby's short little life she has helped make a national impact on her country.  We are honored to be her parents.

Abby is the joy of our life!

More fun at home.

Time away from the slum with our precious little one!

Even at 15 months Abby quickly understood both English and Spanish.  She is absolutely inquisitive about everything!

This is Abby at 18 months.  This is one of our favorite pictures.  We feel God has touched her life and ours and used her little short life to be a light to her own nation.

Fun with Snort the horse.

First day at the beach.
